Day 133
Day 133- Peacock Feather
Today I had no time for a photo so I snapped this quick shot of a peacock feather. This one turned out a little dark, but I thought the darkness looked fun with the pretty jewel tones of the feather.

Day 129
Day 129- Irvine Views
It's views like this one that made me love growing up in Irvine. It's also views like this that have been steadily disappearing over the past 20 years. Let's hope these fields are here for years to come.
I did a small aperture so that the entire picture, even far in the distance, was in focus.
Technical Info- ISO 1600, 18mm, f/16, 1/1000

Day 127
Day 127- Fun Finds
Today we visited Rooster's Fun Bar which is located in Traveland USA, off of the 5 freeway in Irvine. Traveland is an RV park and we did not know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised! The place was fun, had great food, and had a fun laid back, very casual atmosphere. Today's photo is of a gazebo-like structure they have on the property. More photos below!

Day 126
Day 126-Three Babies, One Afternoon
Today I photographed three adorable babies in a few hours! I learned this is definitely not the best way to get the great photos, but it was fun! Between naps, feeding, and trying to find the right lighting the results were OK, but I think I got a few good pictures of each baby! Next time, I will do one-on-one sessions. So let me know ladies when I can take more pics- these models were all so cute and so good! Lots more photos below!

Day 123
Day 123- Baby Kens
Kensie, our Maltese mix, is almost four years old, but he still seems like he is a young puppy. He looks like a pup and acts like a pup. This bright colored, childlike quilt seemed like a good backdrop for him! He is shaggy and needs a haircut, but I love his expression and pose in this pic.

We have a Crape Myrtle Tree in out front yard. Its pretty big and covered in pink blooms. I did this picture with a very shallow depth of field. The shallow depth of field caused the background to be nice and blurry.

Day 116
Day 116- USS Midway
We spent the day in San Diego. We took the train down there, had lunch with friends in Little Italy, then we spent a few hours touring the USS Midway and took the train home.
Visiting the Midway was a really fun experience. We took an audio tour and learned about the history of the ship, how it was run, and what everyday life was like on it. The sheer size of the ship is the first thing a visitor notices. The aircraft carriers look huge from a distance, but when you are standing next to one, looking up, it's really amazing how big they are. That is why I choose the above picture for my photo of the day. More photos if you click the link below!

Day 112- Panning
This photo is an example of panning. I did a slow shutter speed and followed the car with my camera as it drove by. The end result is that the car is in focus and the background is "moving." I have tried to do a panning photo of my dog many times, without much success. I did a photo workshop this evening and with the help of an instructor, I got some great shots!

Day 111
Once again I found myself at Fashion Island. This time I visited the Koi Pond and took lots of photos of the beautiful fish. The sun was high and caused light to reflect off of the water. Next time I try to take photos of fish, I will do a better job of timing it.

Day 109- Japanese Tea Set
This tea set belonged to my grandmother. She died well before I was born and we are trying to learn more about it. The only thing the bottom says is, "Made in Japan." It is at least 60 years old. I love the wooden handle and detailed painting.

Day 107
Day 107- We found a manatee!!
We have searched all over South Eastern Florida, for the past six days, looking for manatees. We drove to about 10 places, just to try and see them. Today was the last day of our trip and we finally saw some manatees! We spotted one manatee off of a jetty in the open ocean. After talking to some locals and a ranger, we then went to a river and looked from a dock. There was a hose and some fresh water was pouring into the water. We first saw a manatee in the distance, in the middle of the river, then it got closer and started to drink from the hose! It hung around for about 5 to 10 minutes! Lots more photos of the manatees (and the places we looked for manatees) after you click on the link.

Day 106- Florida Oranges
Today we visited a family owned orange grove and farm. We got to sample some of their fruits, including these "Unique Oranges." Unique oranges are a cross between an orange and a tangerine. I love my California oranges, but it was fun to visit a place where they grow and juice Florida oranges. More photos when you click the link below!

Day 103- Adventures in Potter World
Today we drove up to Orlando and went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It was hot, humid, and crowded, but we still had fun. We were so impressed by all of the tiny details they put into the land- small details that only a Potter nerd like myself would notice! I took this photo of some candy at HoneyDukes Candy Shop.
