Day 140-Antique Lantern

This antique lantern is part of my "Camping Themed" classroom.  Click the link below for a ton of camping themed classroom inspiration!!

Here are a bunch of photos and tips for my camping themed Pre-K classroom!

^ This is the main part of the classroom where we do calendar/circle time.  I went to a discount fabric store and built this "tent" with 3 yards of fabric.  I used small L shaped brackets to hold the tent up.  To keep it simple, I made my own alphabet "banner" to hang above the tent.

^ This bear helped to inspire the classroom theme.  I got him at Costco for $30!  This is our little reading corner.

^ We collected pinecones and hung them with fishing wire from the ceiling near the entryway.

^ In addition to the pinecones, I also stapled little pieces of pine greenery from the beams.

^ I found this PERFECT border at JoAnn's!!  Lots of great stores are starting to have little "teaching" sections.  Be sure to check JoAnns, Michaels, and even Target!  It's nice to have some alternatives to Lakeshore!

^ I found some sticks and made marshmallows on the end out of Model Magic Clay.

^ To get the woodgrain background, I went to Home Depot and got contact paper.

^ My mom made this adorable little welcome sign for me.

^ Another view of the tent!

^ My mom and fiance worked on this amazing "night sky" board.  We bought two yards of felt.  They made small holes in it a poked Christmas lights through.  The back of the felt is covered in duct tape to hold the wires in place and keep them from falling out of their holes.

^ The entire classroom.  The chairs are all over the place because it is at the end of Back To School Night.  I got the "sun" lantern at Ikea.
