We spent the day in San Diego. We took the train down there, had lunch with friends in Little Italy, then we spent a few hours touring the USS Midway and took the train home.
Visiting the Midway was a really fun experience. We took an audio tour and learned about the history of the ship, how it was run, and what everyday life was like on it. The sheer size of the ship is the first thing a visitor notices. The aircraft carriers look huge from a distance, but when you are standing next to one, looking up, it's really amazing how big they are.
