Day 365

Day 365!!- Birthday Mail

Today is my birthday and I rushed out to the mailbox to see what goodies arrived for me.  Luckily, I was not disappointed!

Today also marks the completion of my blog. It has been an amazing journey.  At times it was a lot of fun and other times a burden, but I am so glad I gave myself this challenge... and stuck with it!  I know that photography will always be a part of my life.  I wont be blogging for awhile, but I will be taking pictures!  Stay tuned, you havent seen the last of my photos!  You can also continue to check out my blog and photography website.

Lastly, a BIG thanks to my followers who checked out my posts!  I hope you enjoyed them.

Day 362

Day 362- Brown Butter Sea Salt

I am a HUGE fan of the cookies from the Brown Butter Cookie Company.  Last week when I checked, my local supplier Fleur de Lys, in Costa Mesa they were all sold out.  So I did an online search and stumbled upon a recipe from the super cute blog The Yummy Mummy.  When I used this recipe, the finished product tasted pretty close to those tasty little cookies I love!  I will definitely be making this recipe again!

Day 360

Day 360- Butterscotch Budino

My fiance and I love trying new Neapolitan and artisan pizza places.  We have learned that most of the best pizza places have their own version of this little butterscotch dessert.  Whether you call it a budino, pot de creme, or just plain butterscotch pudding, its delicious!  It usually consists of a butterscotch pudding or custard, topped with caramel, sea salt, and whipped cream. SO yummy!  We enjoyed this little jar at the organice, sustainable and delicious Blue Ribbon Artisan Pizza in Encinitas.

Day 351

Day 351- Orchid

When it comes to needing a good picture, flower photos are kind of a cop out...they are easy.  With the right lighting, all you have to do is set a wide aperture and snap away and you will almost always get beautiful results.  This is not based on the composition or technique, but mainly because the subject itself is beautiful.  Because of this, I have tried to avoid flowers (as much as possible) for my photo blog. However, sometimes you cant avoid it.  When a new orchid blooms after looking like a dead stick for 6 months, its hard not to be in awe its beauty and snap a photo.  And by Day 351, I think easy photos are allowed!
