Day 341- A Sleepy Photo
Today I got into bed, got all cozy under the covers then realized I hadn't taken a photo of the day! I dragged myself out of bed and knew I didn't have much to work with late at night. I went outside and took a picture of some new little sprouts in one of my pots on the patio. By using a high ISO (3200), a wide aperture (f/2.2), and a slow shutter speed (1/25th of a second), I am able to capture this photo without a flash in a pretty dark area. This photo is definitely not my best work, but this is as good as it gets from a half asleep photographer late at night...
Technical Info- ISO 3200, 50mm, f/2.2, 1/25

Day 283
Day 283- California Citrus State Historic Park
Today we drove out to Riverside and spent a few hours at California Citrus State Historic Park. This is a great place to spend an afternoon. You can walk among hundreds of acres of citrus groves, picnic, visit a citrus museum, and shop at a citrus gift shop. We wanted to visit during this time of the year when the trees are full of fruit. We plan on visiting again in April when the sweet smelling orange blossoms are in bloom. More photos if you click the link below.

It gets hard to think of lots of different photo ideas so I sometimes look at other photographers blogs for inspiration. Wedding photographers love to take photos of the brides' rings in different fun settings. I decided to use my lovely ring as a model!

Day 258- Late Night Palm
Tonight I had to do a late night run to the grocery store. I realized I hadn't taken my picture of the day and was looking for something to shoot. I lucked out with this beautiful palm tree, lit but against the dark sky.

Day 253
Day 253- The Living Desert
I spent the afternoon at one of my favorite places in the Coachella Valley, The Living Desert. The Living Desert is a zoo and botanical gardens located in Palm Desert, CA. They are dedicated to preserving desert plants and wildlife and educating visitors about desert ecosystems. My family has been members of the Living Desert for over 25 years. I grew up visiting and have loved watching it grow.
Click the link below for more photos from today. They include pictures of animals such as the Mexican Boa Constrictor, Bighorn Sheep, Bobcat, Cheetah, Grevy's Zebra, and Mexican Wolf.
